Good can often come from passionate visions of past government decisions. One of the many benefits of the Former President Bush with respect to the No Child Left Behind Act is test standardization for Public school systems. For example, each school from Elementary, Middle, High and any schools that have received public funding were rated with the same testing standards. Looking beyond your hometown If you are considering moving or relocation here are some tips: • Visit www.viewmylisting.com and use the School Widget to search Math, Reading Proficiency scores, student enrollment, student teacher ratios in the area you’re looking to relocate. • Get an insider’s perspective by searching on-line for local and community news and events. • Develop a list of licensed real estate agents within the area and learn about housing trends. • Tour the local area from Cybernet first, to save on gasoline and expensive travel costs. One useful feature is City View by Google Maps. It allows you to see the scenery as though you were driving and seeing it yourself. City View is not available in all cities. • Another way to evaluate a good school system is the amount of parental involvement.

Princess Diana Crash: It Was A Blatant Lie When They Said That Her Injuries Were Fatal!

Princess Diana Crash: It Was A Blatant Lie When They Said That Her Injuries Were Fatal!

The injury that killed Princess Diana although critical was not fatal and in fact former President Ronald Reagan survived a similar injury when he was shot by John Hinckley in 1981! Surely if a 70 year old man could have survived such an injury why not a 36 year old woman in good health?

The French doctors who were part of the team that tried to resuscitate Princess Diana at the hospital following the crash cited a tear in the left pulmonary vein as the source of internal bleeding that ultimately led to her death…there was no mention of other specific lesions!

Their conclusion was in stark contrast to the remarks made by the French Minister of Health and other officials (and widely embraced by the public, the media, and disseminated by the official report) that Princess Diana died as a result of massive multiple internal injuries that left her no chance to survive!

If Princess Diana Had Been Taken To A Hospital Within An Hour After Crash She’d Probably Be Alive Today!

The simple truth is, it is very highly likely that if Princess Diana had been rushed to a hospital immediately instead of being snail-paced for two hours in an ambulance she will still be alive today! Several eminent doctors from around the globe (including French physicians) agreed that a timely evacuation to the hospital would have probably saved the Princess!

This tends to corroborate my theory postulating the real reason why the ambulance journey took so long; the plotters were waiting for Princess Diana to bleed out before presenting her to other personnel not privy or involved in the plot (waiting hospital staff).

Nobody really knows what went on in that ambulance and who was in it besides Princess Diana. Another questionable aspect concerning the 2-hour journey fiasco that has come to light is whatever happened to the police presence that was initially escorting the ambulance?

Princess Diana’s Condition When The First Emergency Vehicles Arrived

The first witnesses to the crash site discovered Princess Diana seated on the floor of the car with her legs on the backseat and her head sandwiched between the backs of the two front seats. Her eyes were open and she was speaking indistinctly (bodyguard Trevor Rhys Jones supposedly heard her call out Dodi Fayed’s name) which established Diana as being conscious at this point.

The first emergency vehicle arrived seven minutes after the crash (Sapeurs-Pompiers, a military emergency service) and the SAMU ambulance that took her to the hospital arrived eight minutes later. The physician from the SAMU ambulance said that Princess Diana was agitated and crying and repeatedly moving her left arm and right leg (once again establishing that Princess Diana was indeed still conscious at this point).

Apparently Princess Diana then went into cardiac arrest while being extracted form the wreckage so she was intubated, put on a respirator and given external chest massage to reestablish a heart rhythm.

Review Of The Injury That Killed Princess Diana

The crash caused Princess Diana’s pulmonary vein to tear; this type of injury is commonly categorized as a deceleration injury because as the name implies it occurs when a person in motion is subjected to the massive traumatic force caused by sudden excessive deceleration. The Mercedes Benz S280 ramming into the pillar at 60 miles an hour definitely fits into this category.

The pulmonary vein transports oxygen-rich blood from the lungs to the heart where it is then pumped to the rest of the body. The pulmonary vein is a large vessel that transports a significant amount of blood. A rip or injury to this vessel will result in internal bleeding in the chest that can quite easily become rapidly fatal; however if the tear is minimal then there’s a good chance that bleeding would be minimal and that expeditious repair of the tear would save the patient.

The fact that Princess Diana arrived at the hospital almost 2 hours later alive is evidence that the tear to her pulmonary vessel must have been a small tear that exuded blood at a slow rate. (Now you can see why it was so important for the ambulance to take its time getting to the hospital. If the tear had been bigger chances are they’d have gotten Diana to the hospital that much sooner. The outcome would have been the same though, because the assassins would have still ensured that by the time she was handed over to the Trauma Staff at the hospital she’d have been beyond resuscitation…which also explains the final 10 minute stop just outside the hospital gates).

As pre-eminent cardiologist Dr. John Ochsner (Chairman Emeritus of surgery at the Alton Ochsner clinic in New Orleans) put it: “depending on the size of the rent, or tear if it wasn’t too big, they could put the patient on a heart lung machine and just go in and do the repair electively. It’s pretty obvious with that lesion, if you can get them in hospital and on a heart lung machine early enough you can save them. But time is of essence.”

He is just one of a very long list of several physicians who believe that expeditious transport of Princess Diana to a hospital operating room could well have saved her! Read the views of other physicians here.

Mardi Gras Throws – Highly Prized Mardi Gras Souvenirs

The Mardi Gras Parades always attract thousands of people. They will line the streets to watch the parade and score some colorful “loot”. There are always a wide assortment of fun items like plastic beads, toys and other trinkets that are given out on Fat Tuesday. These are all known as Mardi Gras throws. Every year there will be hundreds of people who even compete to see who can collect the most “booty” during a parade.

Marid Gras throws are tossed out by costumed Krewe members who are riding on the different floats. During a parade, you will see spectators jostle for the best position. You will also hear almost everyone yell out the traditional plea, “Throw me something, Mister!” Most people find that if they have their hands up in the air, they can almost always grab at least one of the coveted throws.

First time visitors to a Mardi Gras parade are usually surprised to see just how many throws are available. Even the King and Queen have their own tokens to toss from their floats. Parade watchers are always eager to see what these royal members have brought to give to the crowds. Kings and Queens are responsible for their own signature Mardi Gras throws, which are often special goblets. Because these are less common, they are always highly prized souvenirs.

The Krewe of Rex began tossing out inexpensive glass beads during the 1920s and the custom was an instant hit. Other Krewes followed their lead and soon all of the groups were flinging their own throws to the eager crowds lining the streets. Today, this parade loot is a huge highlight for the thousands of people who will be in attendance.

The multi colored beaded necklaces have always been popular and you will hear squeals of delight as these are snagged in mid air. Most of the Krewes will have some of these on hand to reward the crowds. People will loop all of these colorful strands around their necks and continue to wear them throughout the remainder of the day.

The Zulu coconut is one of the rarest and highly prized of all Mardi Gras throws. These coconuts are hand decorated and considered to be a top trophy. You don’t have to worry about missing the toss and getting bumped on your head. The Zulu Krewe hand the coconuts out in bags to lucky people along the parade route.

Some of the other throws are small plastic cups and toys. Colorful frisbees are another favorite for the enthusiastic spectators.  Everyone likes to participate in keeping some of these flying discs sailing overhead as the rest of the parade passes. Another of the traditional Mardi Gras throws are the thousands of plastic doubloons that shine and glitter like golden rain as they are tossed from the floats.

Phoenix Area Tourist Destinations

When shopping for Phoenix homes, one thing you’ll want to know about is recreational opportunities. Whether you’re looking for an evening out on the town, daytime recreation like golfing or kayaking, a hike through the desert ecosystem or relics of the area’s rich and varied history – or something else altogether – you’ll find that the Phoenix has no shortage of things to do and places to see.

One thing to understand about the area – it’s called “Valley of the Sun” for a very good reason. Maricopa County gets about 7 inches of rain every year, and is sunny about 84% of the time. The musical 110° In The Shade with Burt Lancaster and Kathryn Hepburn may have been about a rather exceptional summer in the Midwest, but her in south-central Arizona, that’s business as usual. Many seniors purchase Phoenix property for retirement due to the weather. It’s not steamy, – it’s more like a sauna. For decades, doctors have recommended the hot, dry climate for people with respiratory and other problems that are exacerbated by cold and damp.

If you’re of retirement age, ask your Scottsdale realtor about the nightlife in the metro area. If you’re lucky, you might be able to attend a performance by one of the Phoenix-Scottsdale-Tempe region’s most unique musical groups. “Igor’s Jazz Cowboys” is a band that plays a unique, high-energy blend of Western swing, bluegrass, country and (believe it or not) New Orleans style jazz. (Igor actually climbs on top of his bass fiddle, mounting it like a horse as he plays.)

Sports fans will be glad to know that there are a plethora of pro, semi-pro and university teams playing baseball, basketball, football, soccer and even ice hockey! In fact, football aficionados should know that Super Bowl XLII is scheduled for 3 February 2008 at the University of Phoenix Stadium, which has the only rollout field and retractable roof stadium on Earth.

“Eco-tourism” is a new buzzword these days. Ask your Phoenix Real estate agent about the opportunities for visiting the many natural wonders that exist in the Sonoran desert; guided tours are available through the Arizona Office of Tourism, which is an official signatory to the National Geographic Geotourism Center – an organization that encourages tourism in an ecologically friendly way that makes as little impact as possible on local habitats and biomes.

The Phoenix area is a great “home base” for trips further afield. The Grand Canyon, Lake Powell, Four Corners, historic U.S. Route 66 and more are all within a day’s driving distance or less. When you decide you want a change from the desert, head up into the mountains and visit the old mining town of Prescott. Located in the central Arizona highlands, it is substantially cooler than many of the other phoenix real estate listings, and features many interesting examples of buildings dating back 120 years.

Wayne Hemrick is a real estate agent and long term resident of Phoenix. Mr Hemrick is well versed in all of the recreation, culture, and history to be found in Phoenix. Wayne offers over 20 years experience in the Phoenix real estate market, and can help find the right Phoenix home for you.

Hurricane Needs for 2009

So it’s another Hurricane season…So What?

Floridian’s and most southern state inhabitants were given a break from major storms or incidents for the 2008 Hurricane season. Florida, which has always been the epicenter for these types of storms saw major activity during the 2005 season after being affected by more than a dozen major storms including Hurricanes Wilma and Katrina which knocked out power to most of South Florida and Central Florida, wreaked havoc throughout the other Gulf of Mexico bordering states and destroyed New Orleans.

Although several storms have reached the U.S and have caused major damage, displacement and discomfort for Americans; we still look at these as freak occurrences and tend to remain unprepared for future storm activity.

Throughout the beginning of March and April we are forewarned and notified of basic essentials by local news, newspapers and emails; yet we continue buying last minute supplies and complain when these become scarce and are inadequate for survival during this dangerous and deadly season.

Batteries, flashlights, candles, generators and propane are recommended for purchase and there’s even a tax break for these and other common supplies which are constantly promoted and endorsed. Yet we still go through the same outbreak of unpreparedness yearly, rushing to the nearest lumber yard or hardware store for the most common of things and are still surprised when it has all run out.

I learned the facts the hard way; if I wanted the same comforts or at least a semi regular existence during these periods of desperation, I would need an electricity producing generator. It’s smart, it’s reliable and let’s face it; it’s a modern age requirement.

Best of all with Assurance Power Systems; it’s easy.

Whether you’ve decided to provide yourself with a multi room generator or just a basic “hey at least the a/c works” type, the decision is something you will never regret. An automatic standby generator can and will save you money in the long run by making all perishables edible at a time of need. Think of how if the cable is out but the internet works you can and will get updates just by charging your pc or cell phone. How the kids won’t drive you completely crazy when you plug in their portable games and they bash away for an hour or two while you figure out if you really need to call the insurance company or find a contractor. Always remember it’s easy and necessary.

The most important thing you can do for a storm of any magnitude and yes this means tropical storms as well, plan ahead and be as safe as possible. With an Automatic standby generator you will always provide your family with the best safety feature available. Whether your needs include medical equipment or you just want comfort and peace of mind, it is the best of any pre-storm investment you will find. Keep your fridge on or run a small a/c or needed electronics, it is a great added feature which may save your life and definitely will save you money.

Always remember there is no such thing as just another storm, look no further than Hurricane Andrew. This bad boy was a nothing one minute and headed in another direction, to a Category 5 & hitting Florida the next. The essential need to have items are easy and can be found anywhere, there is no need to get them all at once & if you’re a little strapped for cash it’s usually best to hit the bargain stores and stock up a little at a time.

Didn’t need them last year?

So what, they still need replacing and for sure will come in handy once you do need them. Things like Batteries shouldn’t be pulled from a remote to place in a flashlight, you will need fresh ones to see outside in the dark. No matter what you are always going to need.

Your Medications for whatever ails you should always be checked and procured, make sure you have enough to last 2 weeks or more so in a worse case scenario you are prepared.

A crank or battery operated Storm Radio will run you about $20 to start for a decent one. & No not the ‘boom-box’ in the closet, an actual storm ready radio which is easy to use with good reception for the news and emergency updates.

Lots of Water; If you fill some gallon jugs prior to the storm and freeze them up and then keep a few others cool you should last a few days. Lots of folks think this should be first and foremost on the list since we need it the most, but fire and police departments will have emergency relief out there providing ice and water as needed for those without. If you forget to store enough, your radio will tell you where to go and the flashlight will help you even in the dark to find the place. I realize it may sound ultra dumb or ultra simple but plenty of people have gone without because they forgot.

Food/Dry Goods: No, not beer. Again you can place it at the top but who doesn’t have some food at home they can pop on a grill and cook in the worst case scenario? Pop-tarts, Spam, Tuna, beans and franks and yes even toast are doable. But in a bind you can wait for services to return in or around a Police and Fire Station, where anyone on their electrical grid will be able to sell you food for cash.

Which brings me to CASH$$: Because cash is king! Got a credit card with a special color that gives you a million dollar limit? Try going to a grocery store with no electricity and using it. Or better yet convince someone to take a check as opposed to cash for gas or charcoal. Unless you make the prior purchases well ahead of the storm you will find yourself broke and without food. Even with everything else, cash will get you a ride to someplace safe if need be. As for ATM’s; No juice, No Cash. Get as much as possible as early as possible and use the credit cards on the batteries, food and other essentials.

By the way feminine products and common toiletries are often forgotten, so make sure you have those in mind as well. Clean clothes, picking up debris prior to storms, pet food and a good first aid kit along with some cans of Sterno or propane tanks are also handy.

There are lots of lists to go by, best bet is look up your local T.V station website or get a list at the local hardware store to start from. You can always wait for the tax-exempt day when you can buy all kinds of goods for your storm list or just do it with the everyday shopping. If you really want to feel secure though, best fallback is an automatic standby generator, hands down.

Yes, there are plenty of places selling cheap versions which take gasoline and emit carbon monoxide which can and will kill you so do the homework.

Natural gas or propane is typically the best bet and a professional installation is always good regardless what type of major electronic you are installing in your home. Look at it as though you finally bought that 50 inch flat screen you always wanted; you’re not going to try and nail it to the wall yourself.

It is recommendable to have an automatic standby generator if you run lots of electronics or have medical needs, plus it is preferable to have something kick in as soon as the power is gone for more than 30 seconds as well as a dependable company such as Assurance Power providing maintenance. Instead of yanking on a rope to get it started and possibly poisoning you and your loved ones in the process or finding it broken down and unusable.

Underground models are a smart investment since they are concealed from prying eyes, don’t take up property space and can’t be stolen by wandering thieves. Once the contractor comes out he can further educate you on the type you can have installed and run in your area. Usually they are no bigger than a central a/c unit. Also you may want to inquire about a tankless water heater.

Here are a few places you can find typical hurricane packs along with some ideas for preparedness:

Most frequently used emergency first-aid products are neatly organized in an impact-resistant molded weatherproof case. Includes: Bandages, Burn cream, Alcohol, Antiseptic wipes, Eye wash, Eye pads, Instant cold pack, Tweezers, Scissors, First-aid guide And more

Emergency Flashlights

There are too many models out there to mention and it is recommendable to keep researching for what you feel would be the best option for you, but a flashlight that holds a three year charge like HYBRID SOLAR POWERED FLASHLIGHT WITH EMERGENCY BATTERY BACKUP BLACK is pretty dependable. There are also the crank-lights like Maximo Concepts 33722-sil Emergency Crank Flashlight or the LED type like The Gerber Infinity Ultra LED flashlight. Of course there’re also the good old fashioned looking lanterns which are battery powered or other more intense lighting options.

Batteries

Use your best judgment and definitely go with the long lasting lithium or rechargeable type. If you have a generator you can recharge and if not you always have good ones to rely on. Always remember to switch them out and check if you still have any before a storm.

Medications

Which you typically take must always be checked prior to a storm. Keep in mind stores could be shut down as long as a week or longer in some cases and you always need your medications.
