Does It Get Humid In New Orleans, La?

A buddy of mine is going to Louisiana for his church. He lives in California and is pretty much a California boy. I am just asking this for him since he doesn’t have a Yahoo! account.
I live in California as well and have been to Illinois, Washington, D.C., and Raleigh, NC.
Does New Orleans get as humid as North Carolina???
Thank you and God Bless!

I now live in North Carolina and I lived in New Orleans for 22 years (before Katrina). New Orleans is by far more humid.

New Orleans is probably more humid than North Carolina, though not sure about the parts of NC close to the coast. Weather in NOLA is similar to Washington DC, but usually warmer during winter than DC (New Orleans stays green all year most years because it rarely freezes and almost never snows in NOLA).
If your friend is visiting during summer he should wear lightweight, light-color, all-cotton clothing. Shorts are good. Also a hat & sunglasses.

I live here in central florida near tampa and it was so humid today it was like 90 or somin and it felt like a hundred my dad chkd on his blakberry but I’m pretty sure that whole gulfcoast area should have relatively the same climate humid subtropic.

That is kinda like asking if it snows at the North Pole. New Orleans is miserably hot and humid. You feel sticky and wet all the time. I find the climate there to be unbearable.

It gets so humid here.. that its been difficult for me breath for the 1st few minutes I step outside. Whats more annoying is its just as bad at night. I stepped out of my house 10pm last night and nearly got knocked over by the humidity

New Orleans makes NC seem like the Mojave Desert when it comes to humidity.

Yes it gets very humid in New Orleans. Mainly due to the large body of water that the city lies near.
