Court rules government can't be sued over FEMA trailers
The U.S. government can't be sued for the health problems of Mississippians who lived in FEMA trailers after Hurricane Katrina. That decision comes from the Fifth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans which concluded the government was basically acting like a “good Samaritan” when it provided thousands of Katrina victims free trailers after the storm.

Property taxes due Tuesday for Orleans Parish
NEW ORLEANS – Property taxes are due Tuesday for those who own a home or property in Orleans Parish. Payments can be dropped off in front of City Hall from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Payment is also accepted online at http://www.nola.gov/home/pay-taxes/ . They can also be mailed to P.O. Box 60047, New Orleans, LA 70160. Payments postmarked by Tuesday will be accepted as on time.
