What Should I Do With My Summer Vacation?

I have a very good summer job at a local jewerly store and its so much fun. I have time with my friends all the time and no..no boyfriend. I’m going to New Orleans in a week on a mission trip with my church. I still have no idea what I want to do! This is my last summer before my senior year and I want to make it worth while you know? I want to find myself…but how do I find myself when I have no idea who I want to be? I can’t afford to travel besides New Orleans…otherwise I would SO BE THERE!! I want to remember this summer!! Any ideas??

If You Had $3000 To Spend On A 5 Day Vacation (not Including Flight) – New York, New Orleans Or San Francisco?

This would be for a couple – 40 yrs old, married 20 years, kids gone, total middle class tastes. Love food, don’t want to have to dress up too much; don’t gamble, like art musems and interesting sites/sights, Love music, socially drink. Will shop a little but not a ton. Just want to absorb some culture.

What Are The Best Restaurants You’ve Been To On Vacation Once?

Some of these places, I wonder if they’re even around anymore.
New Orleans: the Holiday Inn restaurant near the downtown area, it was the nice one. I had some great Red Beans and Rice with sausage.
San Francisco: The Sears restaurant outside the Wyndham.
Providence, Rhode Island: Hemenway’s.

Four Best Vacation Places For Honeymooners

A honeymoon is an unforgettable holiday that every newly married couple embarks on, before establishing their marital life. Although a honeymoon is a traditional idea, nevertheless it carries romantic sentiment and in some cases, honeymoon holiday packages are also gifted to the newly weds by parents and relatives.

Choosing a honeymoon vacation destination can be a little confusing, but there are travel agencies out there who offer wonderful honeymoon packages. There are a number of exotic places that a couple can visit and travel agents are the best informed to help with the final choice. The US alone has so many exquisite places to visit.

Hawaii has been ranked as the number one honeymoon destination for decades now. Sun-kissed beaches, azure water, hidden coves, world class accommodation and the delicious cuisine make Hawaii special. Popular and incredibly beautiful, Hawaii is a lovers paradise. For those who are sports enthusiasts, Hawaii is ‘the’ place to be in to enjoy amazing water sports. Hawaii is one of nature’s perfect creations and the weather is simply perfect all year round.

The places worth visiting in Hawaii are Waikiki and Maui islands that display the island’s culture and natural beauty. There are many luxurious accommodation options in Hawaii that offer wonderful packages and benefits like Halekulani, Hyatt Regency and the Kahala Mandarin Oriental Hawaii, to name a few.

Niagara Falls is another perfect destination for honeymooners. Niagara Falls is both, beautiful and economic and its panoramic view can be viewed from the US as well as Canada. The main attractions at Niagara Falls include the ‘Maid of the Mist’ boat cruise that screens an enjoyable feature film from IMAX about the history of Niagara Falls. The other must-see attractions are:

- The Guinness Book of World Records Museum
- Mystery Maze
- The Haunted House
- The House of Frankenstein

You should not forget to visit New York while you are at Niagara Falls. You will get a lot of room to splurge on shopping, restaurants and some of the world’s best theaters.

Florida may be ranked third, but no other destination can compete with Florida in terms of the warm festive ambience that it extends to its guests. Florida offers something for everyone and its itinerary of must see places is so long that tourists are often confused about where to go and what to leave out. Starting from Walt Disney World to the wonders of Orlando, Palm Beach, Miami, Daytona and the Florida Keys, the place is amazing. Along with sightseeing, Florida also offers all its guests lavish accommodation and the most exhilarating assortment of water sports.

Las Vegas is at number four not because it lacks something, but because it has a bit more than a couple on a honeymoon can expect. Las Vegas is also famous as the ‘city that never sleeps’ and is known for gambling and quick weddings, besides sightseeing. This city offers every couple on a honeymoon an experience of a lifetime.

Apart from these places, other hot honeymoon destinations in the US are California (Wine Country), Pennsylvania (Poconos), Louisiana (New Orleans) and almost all the southern states on the Gulf Coast.

5 Places NOT To Go To For Vacation

Some vacations aren’t as good as they are made out to be; maybe it’s a case of false advertising or maybe the locals just take advantage of you just because you have “tourist” stamped on your forehead. Or maybe your luggage arrived from the airport a day or two after you did? In any case, it’s hard to pinpoint the worst vacation destinations without taking into consideration all the things that can happen. Most disappointing vacations can usually be prevented.

To keep you from making a bad choice twice we are going to give you our list of the top five bad vacations.

1. A lot of popular vacation spots in the United States are suffering from unhealthy smog levels. Ozone smog exposure has a cumulative long term effect on your body especially in the elderly and in children.Believe it or not these popular holiday hot spots have high ozone smog: Cape Cod National Sea Shore, Boston, Maine’s Acadia National Park, Philadelphia, Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Maryland’s Eastern Shore, Washington D.C., Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore, Indianapolis, and Lake Michigan,
Pennsylvania (including the Amish farmland and the city of Lancaster).

2. Orlando looks beautiful when you are looking at brochures like the ones for the Nickelodeon Family Suites, but once you have arrived you have to spend hours standing in line just to check in and to top it off, when you do finally get to the desk clerk your room probably won’t be ready. Now, you get to your room and half the stuff in your
room is dirty and the microwave doesn’t work and the remote for the TV is missing. So you call down to the desk to report the problems which they assure you will be taken care of. While you are waiting you decide you will go down to the pool to distress but when you get there its so crowded you can’t even sit down. I’ve seen better accommodations at a Motel 6.

3. Intercontinental Hotel and Conference Center in
Cleveland, Ohio. Beware: The bed bugs really do bite!

4. New Orleans, Louisiana. Even before the terrible tragedy of Hurricane Katrina, New Orleans has been one of the hottest spots in the country, despite the fact that they have one of the country’s highest crime and murder rates. It will be a long time before it is back in condition to accept visitors, though I think it will be a different city once it is rebuilt.

5. Iraq. Self-explanatory. You can travel to the most wonderful vacation destination in the world and have things go wrong. Get complete details in writing about your vacation arrangements prior to making a payment. These details should include the total cost, including taxes, service fees, surcharges, port charges; including the terms and conditions, restrictions and cancellation penalties.

Help Planning Disney Vacation?

My husband and I are going to surprise our kids to a Disney Vacation for 8 days. The surprise will be part of a Christmas present. When they go to bed on Christmas night, we will pack their suitcases. When they wake up, we will give them a breakfast with mickey waffles. Near the end, we will say that there is one present that hasn’t been opened (box full of Disney stuff and mickey ears. A card will tell them they are going to Disney World). We are leaving right after breakfast on December 26 (Flight at 11:45)
I was wondering what the weather is like in Orlando during this time? We live in Minnesota, so it will be a lot warmer than here. Ha. Would it be warm enough to go swimming or should we skip the water parks? The kids ages are: 10, 8, and 5.
Also, we made up an itinerary for the trip: (do u think its any good or should we change it?)
Saturday- Dinner (restaurant recommendations?), hang around hotel and watch movie
Sunday- Magic Kingdom 9am-2pm
Epcot 3pm-9pm
Monday- Animal Kingdom 9am-3pm
Hollywood Studios 3pm-9pm
Tuesday- Typhoon Lagoon? 8am-1pm (or Downtown Disney and hotel)
Disney Quest 2pm-6pm
hotel 6:30-7:30 (order pizza)
Cirque Du Soleil 9pm-11pm
Downtown Disney 11pm-midnight
Wednesday- Animal Kingdom 9am-6pm
Magic Kingdom 7pm-10pm
Thursday- Hollywood Studios 9am-6pm
Magic Kingdom 7pm-close
Friday- Magic Kingdom 10am-5pm
Epcot 6pm-9pm
Saturday- Animal Kingdom 9am-5pm
Magic Kingdom 6pm- close
Sunday- Epcot 9am-noon
And is there any things we could do to make it special? What restaurants do you guys prefer? What hotel would be more fun for kids? (pop century, Caribbean beach, or Port Orleans?) what should we expect? my husband is the only one whose been to Disney, but that was when he was a child. he barely remembers it now.
thank you and god bless!
